CTC- Combative Training Concepts for Law Enforcement Officers
Combative Training Concepts
(For CTC as it's own program within IMA:)
The mission of Combative Training Concepts meets the following criteria:
To provide targeted, customized workshops to a variety of audiences (LEO, Military, Martial Artists, Citizens) which are easily retain-able in a short period of training.
To share style-neutral principles common across numerous martial art.
Trainable by those of all athletic abilities.
Focus on the most important elements of movement and tactics to maximize one's understanding of and ability to perform realistic combatives in violent situations.
To provide a realistic filter thru which to view one's training and ability so as to best utilize existing training.
To learn how to teach and be taught efficiently.
To focus training toward achieving one's personal needs.
The CTC course is sanctioned for use by law enforcement and designed to train for unarmed combat against armed and unarmed assailants in an urban environment with an emphasis on both effectiveness and simplicity. Although the style has martial arts influences, the techniques in CTC are chosen for their reliability and their ease to learn and use without special physical conditioning. One of the underlining principle of the CTC course is to focus on gross motor skills since more refined techniques can lose their effectiveness under the stress of combat. Students will be sparring continuously with one another under controlled conditions and professional supervision. No previous training is necessary but the CTC form is also compatible with any martial arts and personal protection programs being practiced today.
